The weather isn’t as bad as it looks…

Friday, June 19th, 2009

There is still plenty of room for J 24s in this weekend’s Pilot Regatta and there are some weather reports that actually make Saturday look decent.

Also, the results have been posted from this past Wednesday.  You may notice there have been some changes since the reported results, there were some minor errors in the reported results.

Thanks to our RC for getting off three great races and treating us to brownies and watermelon after dinner.

Hilary Jessen suggested in the spirit of when we used to make food, that RC bring a dessert to enjoy after sailing and dinner.  Of course this is optional but everyone did enjoy the cakes that Rich brought and the brownies Hilary made.

Hope to see you all on Saturday morning.

Join The Class

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

Skippers and Crew,

Don’t forget to join the J24 class. You can do it now online and it helps support the class.

If you plan on competing in any away regattas, most require membership.

You don’t need to be a J24 owner, anyone can join and get connected to the class receiving mailings and emails.

Hey J 24 Sailors,

Don’t forget that th Pilot Race is just around the corner and it is one of the races that goes toward our beloved Tonini Trophy.

Please register before the event so that we can entice some other J24s that are on the fence to get out there and sail.

RC Refresher

Tuesday, June 9th, 2009

Just a quick reminder that tomorrow at 4:30 is the second (and last) RC Refresher for our fleet.  We have had about half the fleet send a representative, so we need the other half.

The goal of the refresher is to improve the level of out Wednesday night races, go over the use of the Lindsay Lord and mark boat,  use and storage of all RC equipment etc.

Please make sure that you have sent a crew member to this.

See you all tomorrow!

Results Are Up!

Tuesday, June 2nd, 2009

The first Wednesday Night saw nine J24s out on the race course.  It was a great showing considering the rain and cold temperatures.  The crew of Flying Circus did a great job running race committee with winds 8-10 out of the east.  Many folks enjoyed the chowder and rum that followed.  Check out the results on the website:
