Calling All Fleet 43 Volunteers

Monday, August 23rd, 2010

The Downeast Regatta is shaping up nicely and we are closing in on twenty boats with a few others that have not signed up yet.

We are still in need of some volunteer slots to be filled.  Please see the list below and email Molly White at mollyfrommaine@yahoo.com if you would be able to cover one or two.

Thanks again for all of your help.  Without all of the volunteers this event could not happen!

Volunteer Openings:

Buying sandwiches for RC and Markboat Sunday (will be reimbursed)

Protest Committee (1 slot)

Help with table set up for Saturday Night

Selling hats at Handy boat Friday afternoon

Housing for away boats

Putting away the keg (Fri and/or Sat)

MS Regatta and Harbor Fest

Monday, August 16th, 2010

The MS Regatta is this Saturday August 21st.  It is not to late to sign up and sail in a regatta that supports a great cause.  Over the past 28 years, many of our fleet have participated in the MS Regatta and Harbor Fest.  Sign up today and join the fun!

Doublehanded with a twist!

Tuesday, August 3rd, 2010

Saturday August 7th is the Fleet 43 Double Handed Regatta

The skipper’s meeting is at noon

The first gun is at 1:00 pm

Awards and BBQ to follow racing.

Here are a bunch of reasons to sail in the Double Handed:

  1. It is easy to find crew
  2. It counts toward the Tonini Series
  3. It only takes up half a Saturday
  4. You get BBQ
  5. It is pretty cheap $25 and a side for the BBQ
  6. If you don’t have a J24 you can race in the new double handed/family PHRF division

Enough said!  Check out the NOR and please email Molly White if you plan to race.  So far we have four boats in each class signed up.
