District One Championship, Opportunity to Launch and Sail in Portsmouth

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

Hello All,
See below regarding a vary gracious offer by our neighbors in Portsmouth who are hosting the District One Championship. For those who are interested in going, this might be a good way to get launched and warmed up for our District Championship.

To: Fleet 43 Sailors
From: Fleet 139

I would like to extend the opportunity for members of your fleet to launch their boat early for the district one championship and participate in our Thursday evening races on May 23rd and 30th. The two fleet 139 launch days are:

Friday, May 10th

Monday, May 20th

at the UNH marine facility 8:30 Am.

I would be happy to arrange for mooring space and access to the boats, via KPYC or at Cooper’s Calm.

Please forward this to your fleet and have anyone interested contact me directly.

Best Regards,
Andy Keturakis

District 1 Championship June 1,2

Sunday, April 14th, 2013

Just a reminder to all that the District 1 Championship is a J24 worlds qualifier and is right down the road in Portsmouth June 1st and 2nd. They put on a good show down there and it’s a fun place to sail so I hope we can send as many boats as possible.
For those who want to go but who don’t want to launch and then haul their boats after a relatively short period of time (which would be a lot of work and also complicated as Handy Boat is extremely busy the last week in May) there will be a late fleet launch on Saturday June 8th.
Wednesday Night Series I will begin on June 12th so that the boats who do go to Portsmouth can compete in that series without missing any races.
For those who are not going to Portsmouth, plan to launch on the 18th and start racing on May 22nd as usual, as planned and as has been noted on the calendar. We will have a spring ‘mini-series’ starting May 22nd so for you racing will begin as usual.

Any questions, shoot me a note or call.
And also remember to get your insurance information and fleet dues in soon and be a member of the J24 class before racing begins.
