Annual Meeting and Awards Recap
Hey Everyone,
First of all I would like to thank everyone who made it out to the Fleet 43 Annual Meeting and Awards last month. We had a great turn out and plenty of delicious food thanks to all of our guests!
If you were unable to make it to the festivities here is a quick recap of the meeting and awards.
The Districts will be held in Portsmouth, NH this May 16th and 17th. We will postpone our launch date until after the Districts in hopes that as many boats as possible from our fleet will attend. The NH fleet has sent more than 7 boats to our Down East Regatta and it would be wonderful to show them the same support.
The 2009 Northeast Regionals will be held in Marblehead following the Down East Regatta. Again, it would be nice to send as many fleet 43 boats down, since we can’t make it to their “Round the Rocks” regatta in June.
Howard led the nomination and election of new officers for the fleet. A big “Thank You” to Howard for all of his work for the fleet these past two years as Captain. The 2009 Officers are as follows:

Treasurer: Shelly Paules
Travel Coordinator and Rear Captain: Nick Dambrie

Mr. Hankey: Tonini Series 1st place, Weekend Series 2nd place, Wednesday Series I and II 2nd place
AL: Weekend Series 1st place, Wednesday Series I 1st place
Second Chance: Weekend Series 3rd place, Wednesday Series II 1st place
Flying Circus: Wednesday Series I 3rd place
Denali: Wednesday Series II 3rd place
Congratulations again to Flying Chicken for winning the State of Maine Trophy at the 2008 Down East Regatta!

We will be holding another fleet meeting in March to discuss dues, the schedule, food, and the Down East Regatta. If you would like to be more involved in the Down East Regatta please fire me an email and we will begin to form a committee.
