Fleet 43 Nominations

Tuesday, August 23rd, 2011

Dear Fleet 43 Skippers and Crew,

Your Fleet Needs YOU!

Fleet 43 is looking for energetic, enthusiastic and organized individuals (with a little fiscal responsibility mixed in) for the following positions:

  • Fleet Captain
  • Treasurer
  • Race Officer

Individuals do not have to be a PYC member or own a J/24 to be considered. Membership to Fleet 43 is required.

Read the fine print:

Molly White has graciously offered to Co-Chair the Down East Regatta for next year to help transition the Fleet Captain position. This is a tremendous amount of support being offered this year, for the low, low cost of fun, friendship and perhaps some Mt. Gay.

Please submit nomination/volunteer suggestions to:

Rich DeGrandpre (richarddegrandpre@comcast.net)

Meg Fenderson (fenderson@comcast.net)

Rich Ketchum (rrketchum@yahoo.com)

We’d like to have a slate announced at the Down East Regatta awards ceremony.

Thank you for your consideration,

The Nominating Committee

Hey Everyone,

Don’t forget to RSVP for the Fleet 43 Awards coming up on November 19th.  This year they will be hosted at Andrew Carey’s house at 44 Old Mill Road, Falmouth starting at 6:30.

Hopefully you all received the Evite that was sent out and have shared it with your crew.  If not, it will be a potluck with lots of Sailor Jerry rum and Gritty’s beer.  Fun photos from the season and maybe a cheesy game or two!

We look forward to seeing you all before we settle in for the long Maine winter.

Thanks,
Molly

Crew Oppurtunity

Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

Attention J 24 Racers!

Ever short on crew and thought…”Gee, one of those junior sailors would make the perfect light weight crew on this light air night.” ?!?!

Search no more!!!! Simply contact Kelly Franklin, preferably with 24 hours notice, and she will try to assign an experienced sailor to your crew for the night.  The idea is that she will have a running list of available sailors to choose from any given Wednesday.

If you plan to make use of this new process, please be considerate of the fact that these are kids, not adults!  We ask that each skipper and his crew behave in a respectful and appropriate fashion as long as the junior sailor is in their care.

Please send Kelly an email at least the day before you know you’ll be down a crew member.  Last minute sailors will try to be found, but no guarantees!
