Holy Martyrs Parking Lot Fund Raising
As I mentioned after racing last night we are trying to raise funds to pass on to the Holy Martyrs church for repairs to their parking lot. Here is the email a few of us recieved from Tom Hall last week.
Dear Fellow Racer,
We all have crew that uses the parking lot at Holy Martyrs Church on weekday nights. It?s possible that no other conveniently located organization, outside of the sailing community has done more to facilitate weekday night racing at PYC than Holy Martyrs Church. If you or one of your crew members have driven through the Holy Martyrs parking lot recently, you?ve probably noticed there are a number of potholes that are in need to be repaired. This repair work will cost money.
Over the next ?few weeks, Mark Waite and I will be collecting donations for Holy Martyrs, specifically for maintenance of the parking lot. We feel this would be a excellent way to say thank you to a great neighbor who provides such a vital service. Our goal is to raise at least $1000 for the church, so we are looking for 10 of us to put up $100 each. ?
If you would like to contribute, please make a check out to Holy Martyrs Church with the check memo “Parking Lot Maintenance Fund”. If you prefer, you can also send your contribution directly to Holy Martyrs, 266 Foreside Rd, Falmouth, Maine 04105, Attn: Father Joseph Ford. If you do mail a check directly, please let me know ?so I can include you name in our “thank you” letter to the church.
Please feel free to share this email with fellow sailors, so we can reach our goal.
Thanks,
Tom
Fleet 43 will be making a modest donation from fleet funds. I encourage the rest of you to respond to Tom’s appeal and thanks to those of you kind enough to have donated last night.
